Sweetie Pie's Story
Sweetie Pie is the sweetest cat you'll ever see! She was found by a visitor to Kauai, huddled beneath a bush by one of the hotels near the beach. She had been shot twice with a pellet gun, instantly crippling her. We brought her to our Cat Sanctuary and gave her lots of love and care. Her spine was severely injured and she could not use her back legs or walk at all. A vet performed two seperate surguries to remove the pellets from her, but they were in too deep.
Sweetie Pie is crippled for life because she got shot. She can't walk, but she can drag herself around a little, using her front paws. Sweetie Pie needs help every day with eating and going to the bathroom. She also receives physical therapy (see below) which she really enjoys!
A lot of people said she should be put to sleep because she had such a critical injury. But we knew Sweetie Pie wanted to live. Now she is such a happy, pretty cat, with so much love to give! She is so grateful that we saved her and welcomed her into our cat family. Sweetie Pie is a real sweetheart, and a favorite here at the sanctuary.
